We offer full or part time sessions for 72 children, 32 of these places are for Pre − school children. We also offer your free child’s space/Government grant sessions, which currently stand at 12.5 hours a week. The nursery is set on beautiful grounds and we are fortunate to have a large play area and spacious, airy rooms. About Image

Every child matters at springwood nursery; we are a fully inclusive setting and provide a secure and stimulating environment for those in our care with a solid partnership between ourselves, schools and parents/carers. To maintain a welcoming, secure and stimulating environment in which young minds and bodies can grow happily at their own pace. Springwood nursery was refurbished during the middle of 2008, and we are extremely proud of the result. The rooms are bright, airy and offer all the facilities your child needs to reach their full potential and most importantly have lots of fun along the way!

“Learning through play.. It’s as good as it sounds!”

We follow the new Early Years Foundation Stage which has been statutory from September 2008. It brings together principles and effective practice from Birth to Three Matters and the Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage together with elements of the National Standards for Under 8’s Day Care and Childminding and our open plan nursery is designed to reflect the 4 Principles contained in this document. During their day with us, your child will be able to freely access a wide range of activities and resources to develop their skills in…

  • Personal, Social & Emotional Development.
  • Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
  • Communication, Language & Literacy.
  • Creative Development.
  • Physical Development.
  • Knowledge & Understanding of the world.
Children are observed at what they are doing and encouraged to try new and different activities to further develop their skills sets. These observations are then reviewed and used to plan curriculum activities for the following week, these are then evaluated and adapted to enhance what skills they may have developed.

We also provide the children with continuous resources of sand, water, sensory discoveries, outdoor exploring and fun, computer play, quiet reading as well as creative activities and endless opportunities for the children to use their imaginations. All our toys, resources and equipment are child centered and are stored at their level to offer them the choice in their play and learning.
